This is the blog of Constantin Schneider. I concept, build and manage websites. I also administer small networks and am a consultant for software solutions. I am self employed since I graduated from college 2007 and I spend my time working on all things web, reading and listening to books and occasionally music production with Ableton live and contact juggling. This blog is here to capture my thoughts on my life as an entrepreneur, the little things that I encounter that make my life easier and  the interesting things that I think are worth sharing. I am located in Mainz, Germany and though I blog mostly in English, my first language is German.

Work

I work in Mainz, Germany right at the port side of the Rhine river. My office that I share with four colleagues has a cozy, non business like atmosphere to it. We work mostly on web pages, develop brands and design print materials. We call ourselves: Das LABOR. I manage five of our web projects and am responsible for project management, website concept, editorial work and client communication. Besides working for clients, I have also initiated a project of our own, that has kept us occupied for the last two years and is now online  and doing it’s first steps. I call it: eightpage.

(digital) Life

When computers break down, data vanishes or windows stops talking to a friend of mine, I usually get a call. My knowledge would have developed nowhere, if it weren’t for the Internet. I admire open source and am still astonished that no matter the problem, there is probably someone somewhere just one click away who has the answer. But there are so many solutions out there, that it always helps to have a tested solution at hand. I share my best solutions here on matters online and real life.

Fun

For the right side of my brain I juggle and mix music. I picked up contact juggling in 2007 and I have been fascinated by it ever since. Juggling not only makes your brain grow in size :), but it teaches you a valuable lesson that seemingly impossible things are always possible. For all you who happen to be in my area, the Mainz juggling club meets every Wednesday at the university.

Electronic Dance Music is another passion of mine. Ableton live is a great piece of software and it has enabled me to mix my own sets of electronic dance music.
I talk about my hobbies here from time to time, but much more frequently on my eightpage.
